Will the rise of AI cost human jobs? A report by an AI

I recently read a lot of news about GPT-3 writing an academic paper about itself. Here is the original paper. It seems GPT-3 has pretty good knowledge about a lot of things. After all, it was trained on the same internet that people write and read every day.

I decided to write a report on its opinion on job losses due to AI. I started with this outline,

• Abstract
• Introduction​
  
• ​Aim
• Method​
• ​Conclusion​
  

Then GPT-3 talked about three specific industries, I included them. So the final outline is,

Input: Write an academic thesis in 500 words about the impact of AI on human jobs. Add scientific references and citations inside the text.

​Aim

Input: Write a short aim for an AI thesis on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on humans.

​Method​

Input: Write a methodology section about the impact of artificial intelligence on human jobs. It should include various industries in the consideration, and make a valid case.

Manufacturing industry​

Input: Write a case study on the impact of AI in manufacturing industry related to job loss.

​Healthcare industry

Input: Write a case study on the impact of AI in healthcare industry related to job loss.

Finance Industry​

Input: Write a case study on the impact of AI in finance industry related to job loss.

​Conclusion​

​Input: Write a conclusion section about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on humans.

Abstract

For the abstract, I used playground to summarize.

Output: In conclusion, the impact of AI on human jobs is both positive and negative. It is positive in the sense that it can help humans become more efficient and productive. However, it is negative in the sense that it can result in humans losing their jobs to machines.

Notes:

1. In the introduction section, it referred to a statistics, "A study by the McKinsey Global Institute found that by 2030, AI could displace up to 30% of the world’s workforce." - I cross-checked the data, and it appears to be valid.

2. In the "Financial industry" it referred to a statistics, "For example, in 2017, Goldman Sachs announced that it would be replacing human traders with AI-powered machines" - It is valid as well.​
