Elephas Next is a new app, built from the ground up. It is not an update to classic Elephas, and it does not replace it on your Mac. Your classic Elephas license, Super Brains and settings do not carry over. To use your documents in Elephas Next, you add the original files again.

What’s different

Super Command, iCloud sync and the iOS app belong to classic Elephas and are not part of Elephas Next.

What carries over

No. Elephas Next uses an Elephas account instead of license keys, and classic Elephas licenses do not activate it. Start with the 7-day free trial, no card needed, then choose a plan. See plans and pricing.
No. Elephas Next builds its own encrypted library and index, and does not read Super Brains from classic Elephas. Add the original files to a new Brain instead. Elephas Next indexes them on your computer.
No. Elephas Next starts fresh.
Classic Elephas keeps its own data. Installing Elephas Next does not change, move or delete anything that belongs to classic Elephas.

Bring your documents into Elephas Next

1

Find your original files

Locate the folders your Super Brains were built from: your PDFs, Word files, notes and exported pages.
2

Install Elephas Next

Follow install on Mac. Elephas Next also runs on Windows.
3

Create one Brain per subject

A Brain in Elephas Next works like a Super Brain. Create one for each client, project or topic with New Brain (⌘B on Mac, Ctrl+B on Windows).
4

Add whole folders

Use Add Folder… (⌥⌘O on Mac, Ctrl+Alt+O on Windows) to bring in a folder at once. See add files and folders.

Run both apps

Classic Elephas and Elephas Next are separate apps with separate data, so you can keep using classic Elephas for Super Command while you move your document work to Elephas Next.
