Create workspaces, add your documents, and chat with your knowledge on iPhone and iPad with Elephas.

Super Brain on iOS

Access your Super Brains on the Elephas iPhone and iPad app and chat with your knowledge from anywhere. Super Brain on iOS is available for users on the Pro and Pro Plus plans.

iCloud sync between Mac and iOS

Elephas for iOS supports iCloud syncing, so you can access your Super Brains and their content across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Index files on your Mac and ask questions on your iPhone or iPad. Or index on iOS and continue chatting on Mac.

Requirements

  • Latest Elephas Mac app (v11.4 or later) — required to initiate sync from Mac
  • iCloud Drive enabled on both devices
  • Same Apple ID on Mac and iOS device
  • Updated Elephas iOS app

First-time sync

When you open Super Brain on iOS for the first time, you may see a "Syncing files..." message while Elephas fetches your Brains and content from iCloud. This may take a few minutes depending on:

  • Your internet speed
  • Number and size of files
  • iCloud sync queue

Brain List screen

After syncing completes, access your Super Brains from the Brain tab (the first tab) in the Elephas iOS app. You will see a grid of Brain cards, each representing a Super Brain synced from your Mac or created directly on iOS.

Each Brain card displays:

  • Brain Name
  • Chat Count (message icon)
  • Content Count (document icon) — number of indexed files, URLs, or notes
  • Last Updated date — when indexing or content changes were last applied

Super Chat (default brain)

Alongside your Super Brains, you will also see Super Chat, the default AI assistant inside Elephas iOS. Super Chat:

  • Does not index files
  • Works like a general-purpose AI chat
  • Uses your configured AI provider or the Elephas API

Creating a Super Brain on iOS

  1. Open the Super Brain tab
  2. Tap the + button (bottom-right)
  3. Enter a Brain name and an optional system instruction (e.g. “Answer only based on the given files”)
  4. Tap Create, then add files or content

Choosing a brain for chat

When starting a new chat conversation, you can choose which brain to chat with. Once your brains are synced, you will see a dropdown list of all available brains.

Starting a chat with a brain

  1. Open the Super Brain tab and tap a Brain card
  2. Go to the Chats tab and tap New Chat (or open an existing one)
  3. Ask your question

The Brain answers only from your indexed data (files, saved web pages, notes) and won't guess beyond it. The in-chat header shows both the conversation name and the Brain you're chatting with.

Super Brains not showing up on iOS?

  • Confirm Elephas is enabled in iCloud: iOS Settings > [your name] > iCloud (and on Mac, System Settings > [your name] > iCloud)
  • Check iCloud storage isn't full: iOS Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage
  • Make sure both devices use the same Apple ID and have iCloud Drive on
  • Sync is initiated from the Mac app (v11.4+); open Super Brain on Mac first, then reopen the iOS app

Compatibility

Super Brain on iOS works on all iOS devices running iOS 15 or higher, including all versions of iPhone and iPad.
